To change the password to your own password, for example "newpass", just put in a webpage called newpass.html in the directory or rename renamefile.html to newpass.html. So the password is now "renamefile". The password is equal to the target URL. This way there is no static HTML, text, encrypted or compiled file that contains the password. Which means that even the programmer of SecretPass can not "hack" you (without guessing the password). However we claim that this applet is a very good method to secure your website, we can not be hold responsible for possible hacks or cracks on your website.

SecretPass constructs an url with the password given and checks if this URL has a webpage. If not, the password is wrong, if it does, it opens that webpage in the frame defined by the parameter TargetFrame (use "_self" for standard opening). You can change the type of extension a webpage has with the Extension parameter (htm, html, shtml,...) It only allows 3 attempts, after 3 attempts it redirects to the webpage defined by the WrongPass parameter.

With the parameters, you can change the language, colors and style of SecretPass and extension of the webpage. Several skins are included. You can also use no skin. The applet is also resizable, as long as the width is higher then 30 pixels and the height is higher then 80. There is also a createimage.gif included that contains some info on how to make your own skin.
